Bespoke component drift
Every product surface invents its own button. Variants multiply, spacing rules quietly diverge, and the system becomes a museum of edge cases.
Threadline turns a single prompt into a production-ready component library with tokens, primitives, and documentation. Generate once, export anywhere.
Component libraries shipping on Threadline
Every team starts with the right intention. Six months later, the system is a graveyard of half-finished components and tokens nobody references.
Every product surface invents its own button. Variants multiply, spacing rules quietly diverge, and the system becomes a museum of edge cases.
The docs are out of date the moment they ship. Engineers grep the codebase. Designers ping in Slack. Nobody trusts what is written down.
Figma says one radius. Code uses another. Tokens live in three places and agree on none of them. Every sprint, the gap widens.
Four steps. No configuration sprawl, no boilerplate to delete, no waiting on a Friday model release.
Write the system in plain language. Mood, palette intent, density, audience. No design jargon required.
Tokens, primitives, and 40+ components emerge in under a minute. You get code, docs, and a live preview.
Tweak tokens, regenerate variants, or rewrite the prompt. Threadline keeps your custom edits across regenerations.
One command sends components to your repo, Storybook, or Figma library. You own the code outright.
Nine production-grade systems built and tested by the community. Fork, regenerate, or pull tokens into your own brief.
Warm pastel SaaS system. Lavender and peach tokens, soft 12px radii, generous spacing scale.
Pure monochrome developer tool aesthetic. Inter mid-weight, tight grids, opinionated dark mode tokens.
Bright consumer commerce kit. Sun-yellow primary, friendly rounding, large CTAs, oversized type ramp.
Calm clinical SaaS. Sky-blue accent, conservative density, accessibility-first color tokens.
Sustainable brand system. Earth-green palette, organic spacing rhythm, serif display option included.
Editorial reading product. Violet primary, opinionated typography scale, body-first focus states.
Lifestyle brand kit. Rose-coral primary, romantic curves, generous letter-spacing on display.
Enterprise dashboard system. Cool gray foundation, data-density tokens, table-first spacing rules.
Fintech personal finance kit. Teal-mint primary, clear data table conventions, accessible chart palette.
The traditional path: schedule a design system OKR, hire a system specialist, hold workshops, ship a v0 nobody adopts.

Talk to salesThreadline replaced a year of system work for some teams. For others, it became the way every new product spins up.
"We replaced four months of design-system OKR work with a Monday afternoon. The output was opinionated enough to argue with — that is what made it good."
"I used to fork shadcn and reskin it. Now I describe the brand once and Threadline ships me the primitives. It removed a whole genre of repetitive work."
"What sold me was tokens-as-source-of-truth. I edit one variable file and the whole library reshapes itself. No more drift between Figma and code."
"Our Figma library and our React library actually match now. That sentence took five years to be true at my last three jobs."
"I am the entire frontend team. Threadline is the system designer I cannot afford to hire and would not need full-time even if I could."
"It produces code I would write. That is rare. Most generators output something I have to apologise for during review."
Threadline is the work of Maya Voss, previously design lead at Linear, and Theo Renn, previously engineer at Vercel.
We spent a decade watching teams pour quarters into design systems that died on the vine. Threadline is the tool we wished existed every time we started over — opinionated where it counts, flexible where it has to be, and shipping real code from the first prompt.

Tokens, components, docs, Storybook config — yours to take and host anywhere.
Generated source ships under permissive license. No lock-in, no runtime fees.
Both. Pick your output target before generation — Tailwind v3+, vanilla CSS with custom properties, styled-components, Stitches, Emotion, or vanilla-extract. Every component compiles to clean, idiomatic source for that target. Switch targets and regenerate without losing your token edits.
Yes. Pro and Team plans include round-trip Figma export. Tokens become Figma variables, components become library components with variants. Open the exported file in Figma and your design team can iterate alongside engineering — edits sync back through the Threadline CLI.
Generation is included in your plan — no per-prompt fees, no token billing. We absorb model cost so your monthly bill stays predictable. Hobby allows 30 generations per month; Pro is unmetered for typical use. If you are running thousands of generations per month, Team includes priority queueing.
Prompts and generated output are never used to train models. Team workspaces are isolated, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3. Delete a project and we purge artifacts from cold storage within 30 days. Team plan ships with a signed DPA on request.
Yes. Upload a tokens.json file in W3C DTCG format or paste raw CSS custom properties. Threadline locks your tokens as ground truth and generates components that reference them — no drift, no surprise palette swaps. You can also import from Figma variables or a Style Dictionary config.
You do. Output is yours under an MIT-equivalent grant — commercial use, redistribution, modification, all permitted. Threadline retains no rights to the code we generate for your account. There is no runtime dependency on our servers; the code runs anywhere your app runs.
Threadline ships components as files. Drop them into any React, Vue, or Svelte project. The CLI can scaffold into a monorepo, an existing app/components folder, or a fresh Storybook workspace. GitHub sync handles pull requests on regeneration so you review changes the normal way.
Your generated code stays yours forever. Past exports remain downloadable for 12 months after cancellation. You lose access to regeneration and new templates, but nothing you have already shipped is affected. You can resubscribe later and pick up where you left off.
Free forever for personal projects. No credit card. Export everything.
